Ricky

Ricky and I went to Florida to see my brother and he was the perfect traveler. He is his mamas dog. He slept in his carrier all the way there and back. Woke up and stirred a bit when we landed. He was great in the car on my sisters lap. He never barked in the hotel. He did his thing outside all but once. There is a Fisherman's Wharf in Punta Gorda, with lots of shops and a few restaurants with some outdoor seating. We ate lunch there twice and walked through looking in the shops. Ricky got his lunch there too. I am not exaggerating when I say I must have been stopped by at least 100 people who commented on him or asked what breed he was. All wanted to pet him and he wagged his tail and let all of them do it. He loved my brother and vise versa. My brother always wanted to hold him and Ricky was happy to be held and gave him lots of kisses. So I guess you can say he is a Latin lover and now he is definitely socialized. I was concerned about what to do with him when we went to dinner as I did not want to leave him in the hotel room alone for fear he would bark and cry and I knew the restaurants would not allow him in. So when we went to dinner I put Ricky in his soft carrier and just walked into the restaurant as if I was carrying a tote bag and put him by my feet. He was quite content to sit in there quietly with a little chew
bone and no one in the restaurant ever knew I had him. I did that all 3 nights without incident. He walked through the airports like a proud little trooper on a mission and turned lots of heads. I even took him into the doctors office (in his carrier) with my brother and he was perfectly behaved. I could tell that he was very happy to be home as he got so excited just to walk into the kitchen. He is growing a lot and will probably get his first haircut in a few weeks. I am enjoying him so much.

Ricky was accumulating ice balls by his paws running around in the snow, which he loved, so I put booties on him as well as his coat the next time we had a little snow. He kept both on without any problems and continued to run around in the snow having a ball. Putting his coat on whenever it is below 30 degrees is a habit now and he just waits for it.

Who are these guys and how did I get here?
Ricky does love the snow but he wasn't too sure of these guys and looked to me for answers.
